LA REQUIRED READING BOOK PURCHASING

6th and 7th graders are required to own their own copies of their class novels.  We will be selling these books in the Library through the end of the week.  You are welcome to send your student to the library with the payment.

Tom Angleberger is one of our very favorite authors, and we can't wait to see him back in Austin. The problem is... we need your help preparing a proper welcome. You see, his latest book stars a Heidelberg Handlebar Number Seven (a very hairy and very expensive real-hair fake mustache). That's why we thought it would only be appropriate to collectively celebrate this hirsute wonder with a little mustache madness of our own.

So come one come all toBookPeople at 6PM on Wednesday, April 18th in your mustachioed best to greet Tom and hear all about his wacky and hilarious new book called Fake Mustache: How Jackie O'Rodeo and Her Wonder Horse (and Some Nerdy Guy) Saved the World.

TURN IN YOUR READ-A-THON ENVELOPES THIS WEEK!
Return your sealed Read-A-Thon envelope to your LA teacher this week.
Check list:
- Fill out your personal information (Name, Grade, Teacher, School, Parent's Email)
- Make sure you've completed your reading log
- Make sure your donors' information is all filled out on the back
- Make sure you filled in the amount you collected
- Circle your t-shirt size (if you collected $40 or more)
- Seal your envelope
- Sign your teacher's envelope once you turn it in

READ-A-THON

The Book Spring Read-A-Thon starts today!
January 23 - February 3
Students will:
1) Ask for pledges and donations
2) Log pages read on the envelope - 2 weeks
3) Collect donations and pledges
4) Return their envelope to their LA teachers
5) Collect Prizes!
Give the gift of a book to a child in need!

Our Winter Holiday BOOK FAIR is next week! 
- December 5 - 9  (8:00am - 4:30pm) in the Library
- Family Night on Tuesday, December 6 - 4:00pm-6:30pm  
     **Fun for the whole family!  You don't want to miss this!**
     5:00 - 5:30 - carol with the HCMS Choir
     5:30 - 6:30 - Author, Keith Graves presents - fun author appropriate for 
          all ages (does illustrations as well)
     Shop, drink hot chocolate, and be merry! 
- Payment: cash, CC, checks made out to "HCMS Library"
- Back by popular demand:  spin prize wheel and guess the candy in the jar contest
- Students will shop with their Language Arts classes during the school week: 
    Monday, December 5: 6th Grade
